Education and Credentials

Darrica holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health Care Management, complementing her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration with a Specialization in Leadership from Capella University. She is also certified in Innovating in Healthcare by the Harvard University School of Business, reflecting her passion for leveraging innovation to improve healthcare systems. Her professional expertise is further reinforced by her credentials as an NAHAM Certified Health Access Manager, an HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative, and her Green Belt in Healthcare certification from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.​​

 

Professional Experience and Leadership

Since beginning her career in revenue cycle management in 2007, Darrica has cultivated extensive expertise in patient access, denial mitigation, process improvement, and operational strategy. She has spent 10 years in leadership, developing high-performing teams and implementing strategic initiatives that drive measurable results. Her leadership journey began at Ascension Providence, where she rose through the ranks from the Emergency Department to Operations Lead for the hospital’s R1 team. Darrica’s ability to motivate and guide her teams through challenges earned her recognition, including the Vincentian Award for Creativity (2015) and the Values in Action Employee of the Month Award (2014).​During the COVID-19 pandemic, her Emergency Department Patient Access team was honored and featured in the Small’s Mortuary Calendar, celebrating their resilience and dedication as frontline healthcare workers during an unprecedented time.​ 

 

Today, Darrica serves as the Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Special Projects at the only academic health system on the Gulf Coast. In this role, she leads initiatives that enhance revenue integrity, streamline operational processes, and improve the financial performance of a highly complex healthcare environment.​
